Most of our Short safari cover Shimba Hills reserve, Tsavo east/Tsavo west national park and/or Amboseli national reserve.
Tsavo East's red earth characterizes its rivers and elephants. The vegetation is thorn scrub, spiked with bulbous trunks of baobab trees. The scenery is spectacular, especially in volcanic Tsavo West.
The Lions found here are descended from the infamous “Man Eaters of Tsavo”. The Chyulu Hills feed Mzima Springs with 20 million liters of crystal clear water daily – a remarkable oasis supporting Zebra, hippo, crocodiles, Gazelle, Giraffe and thick acacia forests filled with chattering birds and Monkeys.
Visitors throughout the world know the classic image of elephants against the backdrop of the snow- topped Kilimanjaro. Despite weather extremes, game viewing in Amboseli is excellent all year round.
